Mr. Kjell Rustad of NorCan Consulting Limited is the Project Manager for the feasibility study. His firm is a locally based Newfoundland and Labrador company with diverse expertise in petroleum-related disciplines with international experience in engineering, project management and technical development. NorCan has an extensive working knowledge of the oil and gas industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and its global qualifications include project management of construction of the Hibernia oil production platform in Newfoundland and Labrador and project management of an oil refinery expansion in Norway.
Mr. Jim Smith has joined the senior management team of the company as Vice-President Commercial. His responsibilities will include all aspects of corporate development including finance, contracts, technology and marketing.
During his career, Mr. Smith has held a variety of technical, strategic, and managerial roles in the oil refining (downstream) sector. Most recently, Mr. Smith was Director, Downstream Oil at Cambridge Energy Research Associates. He began his career with Exxon Corporation working in downstream project development. Over the past decade, Mr. Smith has worked as a strategic consultant for many of the leading firms in the oil, gas, and petrochemicals sectors.
Mr. Smith is a chemical engineer and holds Bachelors and Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University . He also holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania .
As a leading entrepreneur in the mining industry, Brian built a successful group of private mineral exploration and exploration service companies prior to co-founding Altius. He has developed many international contacts throughout the mining and financial communities in his years of service as President and CEO of Altius. As an active member of several industry organizations locally and abroad Brian continues to build awareness of the resource development potential of Newfoundland & Labardor. Brian currently oversees that daily management and overall corporate development of NLRC.
Susan is the President and owner of Hollett and Sons Inc., a Research, Facilitation & Evaluation Consultancy based in Clarenville NL. She is a seasoned Facilitator and is an accredited member of the International Association of Public Participation Practitioners. As the Public Consultation Facilitator for NLRC, Susan is charged with ensuring the public and stakeholders are kept aware of the project and that they have many avenues to communicate with the proponent.
